It is my favorite time of year! Fall is in the air and the fishing is getting better by the day. Stream flows are still good for this point of the season. With the cold mornings, things are getting started a bit later. There is a caddis migration starting around 9:30/10 with the female tricos hatching about the same time. The trico spinners are still falling about 11, but the females are the main event. We are starting to see a few BWOs mid day. The actual caddis hatch starts around 4 and the male tricos hatch from 5 to dark. The dry fly fishing is really good from 10 to about noon then slows until 4ish, then gets good until dark if it's not blowing. Mid-day and early afternoon can be pretty fun with a beetle or a hopper. We are allowing "dry/dropper" from noon to 4 since the mid-day hatches are slow. The hatches happen in different spots on different days. If the fish are not rising in your “favorite spot”. Take a walk and find targets. The hatches happen in different areas depending on the conditions.

KEEP OUR FISH WET!!! If you must have one more fish picture, do so in the net in the water or set the shot up ahead of time. That fish should NEVER be out of the water for more than 5 seconds. NEVER lay the fish in the grass or dirt!
