We are allowing dry dropper! Water levels have come down a lot. We are starting to get a good hopper hatch and the fish are really starting to look for them. Water clarity is great and there are plenty of fish. The dry fly fishing is getting really good with great hatches both morning and afternoon. We are seeing great caddis, tricos, trico spinners and the hopper game is ON!! The quality of some of the fish right now is awesome! The dry flies that have been working well are grey para caddis, ec caddis, hot creek caddis, male and female comparadun tricos, trico spinners all in sizes 20 and 22. The hopper patterns that are working are Dave's, Grey parachute, streambank, J Salam and panty dropper. The terrain has dried out a lot so the usual footwear is fine. The GREAT news is that we got that much needed flushing flow that is so important for the health of the stream. I know for sure that the water we got this season will ensure great fishing for years to come!
Stay tuned as I update this report when conditions change.
